Card Art

Card Art is a relatively new section of the card collecting hobby that has emerged in the last 5-10 years. There are many different types and styles of card art. What I was introduced to was cutting up and modifying sports cards. I got to know several card artists through a collector friend, and after looking at their work, I decided to give it a shot myself. I struggled at first to find my own style. I didn’t want to just imitate what I saw, as I didn’t feel I’d be able to do it as well as people who’d been creating for several years. Eventually, I remembered my love of rocks and lapidary and decided to merge that love with card art. With that, my style was born and my creative journey began. I’m still learning and growing in the hobby. This space is where I will share some of my cards and select cards from other artists.

    It’s been a while since I worked on this page, and I’m trying to make the time to finish it. I’ve been creating card art for the past 3 years or so. Its a hobby I found during the pandemic. Cart art can take many forms. The form I participate in is taking existing trading cards (sports cards, Pokémon, magic the gathering, or other cards) and modifying them.
